Colombia Paragliding School & Road Trips

What a great experience. It was a dream coming true to learn how to fly, it was great hanging out in the lovely town of Santa Helena with the group and get to know paragliding and its culture.The team of Richi, Koen, Pablo and German made sure me and the other students learned good techniques with safety as priority. First ground handeling, then instructional tandem and then the first take off with full radio instructions.I can definitely recommend to learn it here as the price is good, the weather conditions better and the people the best. Getting a license is not the easiest (because of Columbian regulations) but in every country you get it in a different way, so make sure to check what you need before going back home.After 10 days I got around 4.5 flying hours, 23 flights and some termaling. Enjoy!

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Colombia Paragliding. Richie and his team were nothing but professional and the most accommodating group of people I have ever encountered. You will progress at your comfort level, and will leave with more flight time hours in the 15 day course, than most new American pilots get in a year. We will definitely be going back. The experience and friends we made will last a lifetime.

I honestly can't say enough good things about Richie, his wonderful team and the incredible flying created by the local conditions in the Valle de Cauca. As a relatively new P2 pilot I was able to thermal with birds, reach cloud base and fly along a cloud street - things I had only dreamed of achieving at some point in my hopefully long flying 'career'. Richie is a Columbian but also spent many years in the US so has great multi-cultural sensitivity. He is a welcoming, fun and enthusiastic South American but who also understands that more 'up tight' North Americans/Europeans need to be kept informed of changing plans and the pick up vans need to arrive on time, every time! Between Richie and his dedicated team's skill and professionalism, phenomenal flying conditions and 80 cent post flight beers (I recommend Poker!!) what's not to love?? I've now gone twice to be a part of his school and am planning on taking one of Richie's tour's later this year!!

Wow what an experience! I can’t recommend Richi and his crew enough. The course really blew our expectations, we had such a fun time and a lot of paragliding experience during our 15 day course.We had 10h of flight and 47 flights at the end of our course (this depends on the weather) and Zeta and Pablo were such great instructors.I would recommend this to anyone that is looking to really learn the sport.

Had a great time over the 2 weeks with richi and co. Not only is it a great school and far more organised than any other school I have seen in Latin America, but the environment they create is great. From the WhatsApp group that 6 months later people still use, to table tennis competitions after flying everyday. They really enjoy teaching you and sharing your joy in your progress.

I loved the paragliding course with Richi, Zeta and Pablo so much. Every step felt very safe, exciting and I felt I learned so much in just 15 days. Also got some amazing thermal days.I would recommend this school to anyone. The school really pushes to the last bit for everyone to get a good experience and maximise the flight time.We came for a paragliding course and left with many friends

Si vous cherchez une bonne école de parapente, - vous l’avez trouvé! Richi et son équipe sont des vrais professionnels mais pas que! Ils sont également des personnes extraordinaires: gentils, patients, serviables et toujours de bonne humour!(En cherchant une école, je vous garantie que vous allez trouver beaucoup plus: des amis, une famille).J’ai fais mon stage de 15 jours et je suis sortie une pilote autonome: je sais gérer un thermique, décoller et atterrir dans toutes conditions: brouillard inclus, voler et manipuler une voile en A et en B!, savoir trouver des ascendances et comprendre les nuages;)J’ai effectué plus de 45 vols et le vol le plus long a duré 53 minutes. Je suis prête pour un cross country avec « Colombia Paragliding »:)Ils utilisent les paragliders flambants neufs de la marque BGD, le 4x4 et bus super conforts, qui vous récupère et amène chaque matin au déco et ramène à la maison. Ils vous conseillerons des meilleurs cafeteria et organiserons des superbes barbecues.Bref, faites confiance à Richi, Giovanna, Pablo, Herman, Fabian et Rawal et je vous souhaite aussi de vivre, au moins une fois, le «magic air »;)

Je recommande a 100%, Colombia paraglinding c'est l'occasion de vivre une aventure humaine tout en apprenant a faire du parapente !Suite à ce stage j'envisage d'acheter mon propre parapente et de continuer la pratique !Merci a toute l'équipe Colombie paraglinding

This paragliding school is awesome. We took the 15 day course with Richie and it was a beautiful experience. Not only flying above the colombian mountains covered with jungle, but also all the people involved, made this adventure unforgettable. We had a fun time here and got the skill to fly in thermals with the birds, while improving starts and landings. This place is definitely a good spot to learn paragliding because of the perfect weather and thermal conditions. I'm super glad that we came here to learn and to have a new tool in my flying skill set now.
